YRYM HT barbecue grill mats are amazing. Delivery was quick and instructions in email for follow up were very good also. Grilled marinated chicken breasts on the grill mat. Chicken cooked perfectly, grill never got soiled and the cleanup was a breeze. The purchase of the mats was a good investment. Happy with the results. Not only did my food come out great clean up was a breeze. The mats work grreat and are a snap to clean up. Tried it twice so far. Amazing product. Salmon steaks cooked to perfection. Slid off the mat after cooking, non-stick means non-stick. Mat cleans easily. Used the YRYM HT Grill Mats for the first time last night, cooked vegetable kabobs and stuffed burgers. Pleased with the grill marks on the vegetables and burger! They were very easy to clean and I like the heavier weight of the mats. I have used the Miracle BBQ Grill Mats and a cheaper model of mats, the miracle mats were difficult to clean and got holes in them and the cheaper mats left no grill markse while once I get more use on them, or if there is any catastrophic failure.
First of all, I read a large majority of the negative reviews and after dismissing a lot of them as "failure to use common sense", I decided to buy a set of non stick grill mat. Cleaned them according to instructions, and put them side by side on my grates. First meal, sausages, pierogies and peppers. I heated my Weber up to about 400 degrees. The grill heated MUCH, MUCH slower than normal with the mats covering the majority of the surface area, so be prepared for that and adjust cooking times accordingly. After it registered 450 closed, I opened it up, threw everything on the two mats. A little bit of buttered oil for the pierogies, and left to cook. Everything moved on the mats beautifully, no sticking, no issues. The peppers were difficult to get seared, but the sausages were developing beautiful sear marks. The sear marks weren't nearly as deep or flavorful as on the grates themselves, in order to get the sausages the way everyone likes them, I had to finish them on the bare grates to get that heavy char.
The pierogies were fantastic, normally pasta sticks to everything, but not these barbecue grill mats, and the effect was like a deep fried pierogie without deep frying. Now, the reason for the 4 and not 5 stars. Cleanup. The mats do NOT clean with a splash of running water, or even a heavy stream of scalding hot water. I had to wet them down, lay them on the counter and lightly buff the gunk off with a scotch brite pad, then wipe them down with paper towel, and no matter what I couldn't get the greasy feel off them. And oddly enough, both sides of each mat felt greasy. The grill was completely clean before using the mats. Some people may opt to not clean them for "built up flavor" but I don't use my grill enough to feel that won't cause some kind of food poisoning. Finally, the barbecue grill mats were inspected and the edges are a little tiny bit curled, you can see the grille imprint on the mats, don't know if this is permanent or not or how it will effect it's longevity. I'll probably update this review in a little while once I get more use on them, or if there is any catastrophic failure.
We BBQ a lot, and travel with a grill so I like the lack of having to clean a grill just the mats! I can cook all my dinner on the grill with the mats, and no flair ups! BEST MAT I HAVE USED YET! Heavy duty but does not interfere with grill marks, easy to clean. Fast shipping, god follow-up.
