Weber says not to use a flat griddle on both sides of their Electric models because the heat will get trapped. Won't this grill mat do the same thing? First, I do not have an electric model but propane. Secondly, you should trim your grill mat to leave approximately an inch open on your grill all the way around. Thirdly, works well and pretty much as advertised. I don't know what an electric grill is. You should just bring an electric skillet to the party. Don't really know however we have used ours for fish, burgers, a veggies and so it all cooked great and clean up was easy!
Isn't the point of using charcoal grill for the flavor? I wait for the mat to cool down after cooking, then clean it in the sink with hot water and Dawn dish washing liquid. I don't have any issues with getting the mat clean. Hi Joe, I have not had any problems cleaning these matts. I just use soap and water and they have been easy to clean. I have only cooked ribs, hots and burgers.
What keeps these mats in place while you are trying to flip your steaks, burgers, etc.? Seems like the mats would tend to slide around. Nothing but I've never had a problem they do move a little but not enough to cause a problem LOU . The weight of the mat itself stays pretty steady on the grill and also, when cooking more than one piece of meat the mat tends not to move around. We suggest using tongs to flip but have honestly never had a problem using a spatula. I cut mine to the size of my round grill so I have not experienced this problem. The mats do not move around the grill. They remain in place. No, they seem to stick to the grill racks really well.Use teflon safe spatulas and they slide right under the meat.It will also protect the coating on the mats. You cut them to fit your grill .
